Carolyn E. Hollins

is a native of Chicago, Illinois who was raised in a small southwest suburb of Robbins. Church music has been a part of her life as far back as she can remember.

 

Starting out singing in the Cradle Roll (ages 3 – 5) of Sunday School; Carolyn transitioned through the Junior Choir, Inspirational (Young Adult) Choir, and began Directing the Senior Choir of New Friendship Baptist Church of Robbins in 1985. She introduced “Praise & Worship” to New Friendship in 1994.

In 1996, Carolyn had the privilege of singing on television for Bobby Jones in a choir that backed up Albertina Walker and Beverly Crawford.

As a member of the Chicago Chapter of the James Cleveland Gospel Music Workshop of America since 1997; Carolyn has shared gospel music moments with Edwin Hawkins, Kurt Carr, Richard Smallwood, Vicki Winans, Lee Williams, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Dorothy Norwood, The Williams Brothers, Marvin Sapp, Dotty Peoples, and Jesse Dixon; just to name a few.

Carolyn was Praise & Worship Leader for the Destiny Church in Hoffman Estates just before joining the Second Baptist Church of Elgin in 2005 and began singing with the Praise & Worship Team.

Today, Carolyn has her own choir, The Multi-Cultural & Multi-Denominational Community Choir that God allowed her to start in 2001. She also assists as Director of the Second Baptist Church Male Chorus.

                  One of Carolyn’s favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3: 5-6.
